Not far from the farm, owner Chen Po-Yuan, with both sleeves rolled up, takes tourists to pick fresh vegetables in the field. Both adults and children pick vegetables with vigor. Children excitedly show off their harvest. Full of laughter, the field was all activity and without even knowing it, all were immersed in the wonderful atmosphere of farming.

Chen Po-Yuan, who used to be an engineer, decided to return his hometown with his wife, Ye Zhi-jun, to become a farmer as he wanted to provide a healthier growing environment for his children. He also didn’t want to see the farmland of his hometown decline and hoped to pass on Sanheyuan in his home. Starting out as a layman, he had great ideas about the environment for vegetable growing and local culture. He took initiatives to build an eco-friendly environment and acquired related knowledge from experienced farmers on how to preserve the environment and culture and pass down his spirit of sustainability to the next generation.

Features of Agricultural Tourism

Vegetables

Based on Sanheyuan culture. Also with the idea of establishing an eco-friendly environment in mind, the Farm grows vegetables in such a way that has minimal influence on the land. Focusing on food and agriculture education for families and tourists, the Farm provides an interesting experience and activities to demonstrate the life and aesthetics of ancient rural villages.

The Farm grows a variety of vegetables in net enclosures, including cabbages, radishes, mustard, broccoli, Chinese kale, turnips, baby corn, and more. Adults and children alike can learn to distinguish the qualities and living environment of different vegetables through growing seedlings and picking vegetables. Vegetables harvested on the Farm are also used to produce pickled mustard, pickled vegetables, chili sauce and other products and unique dishes using ancient techniques. Tourists can fully experience the charisma of food and agriculture aesthetics.
