Tasting of the vanilla herbs by the Nurse.
The fragrance wafts from the farm to the dining table

FANCY GARDEN

“Fancy Garden” covers about 4000 square metres of land, with more than 20 kinds of herbs planted on it. Depending on their varying characteristics, some are in open air while some are in net rooms. While not having dazzling flowers or flying bees and butterflies, the humble-looking green leaves possess a fragrant aroma, and anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-bacterial and other effects, which can not only be seen and smelled but also touched.

Wang Lifei, a nurse with 20 years of experience, selects the varieties most suitable for Asians out of hundreds of different herbs to make handmade soaps, hydrosols and other skin care products, forming a journey from the place of origin to the dining table that is not only fun and fragrant, but also very delicious.

Wang Lifei’s father runs a well-known capon restaurant in Madou. The ingredients come from raising pigs and chickens, and self-grown vegetables, silently promoting food and agriculture education. Wang Lipei has been fascinated by these ever since she was a child, and buoyed by her medical background and exposure to these plants, she resigned as a nurse and started her new chapter in life.

Wang Lifei says that the skin is the upper most layer human body and should be taken good care, but the market is full of products that are chemical cleaners and fragrance added, which further burdens the skin. Therefore, she promotes natural handmade soap, of which refreshing and anti-inflammatory vanilla has become her first choice. She tried planting any herbs which proved beneficial to the skin, and finally settled on over 20 kinds of herbs, including thyme, lavender, rosemary, mint, lemon balm, marigold, Mexican clover, Eustoma, nigella, fishwort, verbena, patchouli, cinnamon leaves… and more.

“Fancy Garden” has developed a series of products including handmade soap, herbal distillate, lotion, essence, etc. for men, women and children, and has gained increasingly popularity on Facebook. They are especially popular with people having issues with pungent skin infections, and help promote food and agriculture education in all aspects of vanilla.
