There are four common species of silvergrass, including Pacific Island silvergrass, white-backed silvergrass, Taiwanese silvergrass and high-altitude silvergrass. In autumn and winter, silvergrass appreciation is generally referring to white-backed silvergrass. As winter ticks in, and the mountains and plains everywhere become a white sea of white flowers as far as the eye can see. From the initial red to the blooming silver, till the final withering yellow, each with different looks.
