Four Seasons Honey Ecological Education Park

The Four Seasons Honey Ecological Education Park brand originates from the Tong Fa Beekeeping Site, a family business with an 80-year legacy. Now managed by third-generation owner Lin Yong-Sheng and his fourth-generation daughter Lin Zi-Jun, the duo is committed to producing premium longan honey while also advancing ecological conservation and environmental education.

Introduction

Currently, Four Seasons Honey Ecological Education Park operates 420 beehives, each containing around 24,000 bees. Lin Yong-Sheng noted that bees can forage within a 6-kilometer radius, and to ensure they always have adequate food sources, the hives are placed strategically at different locations. The name “Four Seasons Bee Harvest” plays on the homonym for “abundant harvest,” symbolizing their goal of achieving plentiful yields throughout the year—spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

At the park, visitors can delve into the fascinating world of bees. For example, not all bees are inherently aggressive, their mood can vary depending on conditions like rainy weather, which can make them irritable. By understanding these lovable creatures’ habits—such as avoiding standing at the hive entrance and blocking their path—humans and bees can coexist peacefully. Guests will also learn practical techniques to differentiate between authentic honey and fake products. Professional guides introduce the “Sales Traceability System,” helping visitors identify pure honey compared to artificial additives. Moreover, they’ll explore the benefits and applications of bee products such as royal jelly, pollen, propolis, and beeswax, gaining insights into their individual roles in health, skincare, and nutrition.

Four Seasons Honey Ecological Education Park offers a unique DIY beeswax workshop, giving visitors a chance to create their own beeswax products. Beeswax, a natural and sustainable material, is commonly used for making candles, lip balms, and other everyday items. During the workshop, participants use pure beeswax to craft scented candles, adorning them with elegant dried flowers. This hands-on activity showcases the versatility of beeswax while allowing guests to take home their handmade creations as memorable souvenirs of their visit.

In addition to beekeeping activities, visitors can enjoy delectable treats made with toxin-free honey, including honey cakes and honey lemonade. The park embodies the philosophy of “harmony between humans and bees.” Through ecological education and interactive experiences, visitors not only enjoy the delightful flavors of honey but also learn the importance of protecting bees, thereby contributing to environmental conservation. At Four Seasons Honey Ecological Education Park, visitors are more than just guests—they are stewards of the environment, leaving with a deeper understanding of the vital role bees play in sustaining our ecosystem.
