台灣梅子主要有6大品種,分布在中部中央山脈西側。梅子可增進食慾、消除腹脹、解酒、預防暈車、感冒等食療效果,也由於梅子酸度高、甜度低,採收後的梅子極少當作鮮食水果,大都經由加工製成醃梅等蜜餞產品。
