The most precious aspect of Hua Kai Le Leisure Farm is the hundreds of tree species on both ends of the farm. “You are gazing on a scene worth hundreds of millions of yuan”, says Li Xunde, the owner of the farm.
Treating hundreds of thousands or even millions of yuan’s worth of precious tree species as “alley trees”, Li Xunde does not charge admission fees and parking is free. He also uses cranes to change the trees from time to time, so that the ones in bloom are at the entrance, so that visitors “see the most beautiful side of our farm”. No one appreciates trees and shrubs like he does.
Li Xunde established Blossom Leisure Farm in 2006. At that time, the land was just a pond. He landfilled the pond, and the more he invested, the more interested he became, and even more he invested. The farm covers an area of about 2 hectares. At the start It was mainly small potted plants and other flowers. More than four years ago, it transitioned to mainly landscape bonsais and big trees. Among them, real cypress, black pine and Osmanthus number the most. At the same time, the atmosphere of the park is gradually changing to a focus on parent-child kinship, and so multiple amusement facilities, cute livestock, and glass house restaurants were established.

There are at least 30 or 40 species of trees on the farm, and the investments are countless. “The value of the trees on the farm is estimated to be at least hundreds of millions.” In addition to welcoming flowers, and a view of trees that are worth millions, there are other eye-catching features such as the peculiar appearance of tree grapes on the trunk, which visitors are encouraged to pick and taste.
The farm also provides guided tours and DIY courses, including tree pruning, small potted plant grafting, etc. In addition to open registration for individual visitors, it is also a popular venue for off-campus teaching in schools at all levels. Knowledge of various plants and animals are imparted via customized tours suited to one’s needs.
The glass house restaurant offers famous local dishes from Daxi, such as the seasonal limited special “Baked Bamboo Shoots”, “Roasted Pork Ribs with Osmanthus Sauce”, “Basswood Mushroom Chicken Soup”, etc., where dishes change with the seasons. The latest dishes are the stewed rice with basswood mushrooms, the fragrant pancakes with grilled mushroom slices, and the sweet-scented osmanthus jelly.
