Introduction

A lavender field in Provence, France, is like a dream. Such beautiful scenery can also be appreciated at Lavender Cottage Xinshe. Located in the mountain in Xinshe, Lavender Cottage was the first Lavender Cottage. The two founders, Chan Hui-Chun and Lin Ting-Fei, found their passion for herbs when traveling abroad and dreamed of owning a lavender field of their own in Taiwan. They found the land in Zhonghe Village, Xinshe, and gradually established the Cottage and surrounding area. Where lavender meets forest, the Cottage has been around for more than 20 years and is now a significant size.

As time went by, Lavender Cottage Xinshe gradually turned from a piece of land to fulfil their dream to a place focusing on the relation between people and forest, nature and land. They not only invite tourists to experience life with herbs, but encourage them to step on the soil, familiarize themselves with the relation between plants and land, appreciate and be humbled by what nature provides. They highlight that they designed the Farm in such a way that has minimal influence on the natural environment, and blend in artistic elements so tourists can experience forest aesthetics from another perspective.
