LU FUNG LEISURE FARM

LU FUNG LEISURE FARM

“Lu Fung Leisure Farm” used to be Lu Fung Jade Processing Workshop, and has been involved in Taiwanese jade within the Fengtian community of Shoufeng Township for more than 40 years. In 2020, they obtained the leisure farming license, and utilized Shoufeng’s natural water, weather and soil to cultivate herb crops.

Introduction

Jiang Meiru is the person in charge of “Lu Fung Leisure Farm”. She planted a small area of herb plants next to the Lu Fung jade processing shop run by her parents. Lemongrass, Mexican mint, peppermint, rosemary, aromatic marigold, and others can be seen and smelled everywhere on the farm. Different plants are harvested in different seasons, so every time you come to the farm, you get to pick different plants and choose what fragrance products you wish to create.

In the early days, vanilla plants and fragrance products were all imported from abroad, and we rarely see large-scale planting. Enter the lush lemongrass garden, and cut off bunches of lemongrass under the guidance of Jiang Meiru. Although the weather is hot, the smell is fragrant and very refreshing. There are no annoying black mosquitos, possibly due to the smell of vanilla crops.

There are many DIY items, including potted plants, herb distillate, and balm, all experiences one can’t wait to try. There is also a special handmade jade soap. Jiang Meiru incorporated her parents’ business of Taiwanese jade into her DIY handmade soap experience. Tourists make a piece of handmade soap with and a piece of jade within. When the soap is used up, they are left with a piece of Taiwanese jade. A truly unique experience indeed.

Herbs

Her parents operatedthe Lu Fung Jade Workshop, and witnessed the most glorious era of Hualien’s jade processing industry.

Why the transformation? Meiru says the warmth of the green jade paired with the soothing aroma of the green herbs, isn’t that a match made in heaven?

She takes advantage of Shoufeng’s superb mountains, water and climate to grow herb crops, and even attends classes to increase her knowledge of fragrances. Combined with the Lu Fung Jade Workshop run by her parents, she gives tourists who come here the opportunity to experience two different courses that nourish and satisfy the sense of smell and taste.
