The Nuomi Bridge, a historic site in Nantou County, was completed in 1940 with 82-year history. It is 53 meters long, 5 meters wide, and 20 meters high. Coffee trees splashed with red create a romantic ambience. It has become the most representative agricultural product in the Nuomi Bridge leisure agriculture zone. Tourists whiff the fragrance and feel the touch of love!
Introduction
Walking into the “Nuomi Bridge Leisure Agriculture Zone”, you can look up at the green mountains and clear waters for a sense of serenity and relaxation. A group of young farmers upholding the unshakable spirit of the Nuomi Bridge are working tirelessly to bring innovation to the farm through creative thinking, while promoting the exquisite and rich agro-food education.
Huang Guofeng, chairman of the Association for Advancement of Nuomi Bridge Leisure Agriculture, says that there are currently 48 members in the leisure zone, including leisure farms, homestays, restaurants, coffee shops, camping areas, etc. The industry is diverse and the leisure experience is rich, including hand-made coffee, popcorn, cypress sketches, DIY lemongrass soap and others. Groups can also make reservations for one-day farmer tours and four-season agricultural tours to fully immerse in the allure of the countryside.
Nantou Guoxing experienced a 9.21 earthquake in 1999. The betel nut trees fell and the coffee trees arrived. For the past ten years, it has risen against the trend, now covering an area of hundreds of hectares, and has the highest output in Taiwan. It is also the first town in Taiwan to implement certification of coffee origin. With an insistence on hand-picking, each one needs to be certified by the label, a stringent method of quality control that has helped build up a good reputation. A combination of high altitude and low caffeine provides a rich taste that not only attracts the veteran connoisseurs, but has also been incorporated into the state banquet at the Presidential Palace.

Mei Junyi, one of the top 100 young farmers, created the “Nuomi Bridge Coffee Workshop”. The cedar wood decoration embellishes the surrounding greenery, the craftsmanship matching the adjacent ancient bridge. Mei Junyi not only has exquisite craftsmanship, but also makes good coffee. Whether its picking, fermenting, husking, bean selection, color separation, polishing or other processes, he personally demonstrates different stages of roasting, guiding tourists to grind by hand, thereby allowing them to immerse in an excellent hand-brewing experience.
