“Sunward Organic Farm” located in Daqiutian, Neihu, is surrounded by mountains on three sides. A flat farm of about 3 acres, there is an outdoor vegetable area, as well as a strawberry and little tomato greenhouse protected from wind and rain. The whole farm is tidy and well-maintained. A clear stream runs next to the farm, presenting a strong and peaceful atmosphere.

“Sunward Organic Farm” has six different one-day group tour activities, all of which require bookings. Farming experiences are available, such as various DIY activities such as vegetarian pizza, vanilla vinegar, organic strawberry jam, etc. The farming experience introductions are interesting, humorous and professional. At noon, a light and organic vegetarian meal is provided, made from self-grown vegetables or organic products from Liren.
“Sunward Organic Farm” owner Xu YouSheng is a legendary figure. His legend lies in how different his life now as compared with before, and how he turned his life around. Addicted to drugs at the age of 14, he lost billions of fortune after leaving the army. Until one day he found drugs in his daughter’s schoolbag, which finally made him resolve to break his addiction, and with some help from a friend, took his daughter the hills to start organic planting. The process was hard and they were often besieged by difficulty, but they always seemed to meet people who could help them, leading to the creation of “Sunward Organic Farm”, where they take in youth who are mired in drug addiction, and help them break their addiction through daily farmwork, group living, and faith.

Vegetable
Vegetables and fruits in Sunward Organic Farm are all grown organically and certified by Tse-Xin, and no pesticides and chemical fertilizers are used. Their achievements today stem from the effort of 10 rehabilitated people. They pick the freshest vegetables early in the morning and package them with care. The produce are swept away by tourists once they appear on the shelf, as organic vegetables freshly picked on the day are particularly sweet. Lettuce, cabbage, kale, as well as loofah, cabbage, and cherry tomatoes in winter are all very popular.
Xu Yousheng says that, as a person who has experienced it himself, when he came to this land he concentrated on the busy farming work and exhausted his mind, and sometimes fell asleep once he laid down. “I spent 8 months cleaning up the garbage with my heart and body. I encountered the doctor who once treated me and he thought I “was gone” after not seeing me for a long time. He didn’t expect that I could quit drug addiction by doing farming.”
