Introduction

Terra Fruit Groves Farm is situated off a quiet path near Shengling Temple, Xihu, Miaoli. It is a quiet and simple farm filled with clusters of fruit trees. With a gentle breeze blowing, visitors will immediately feel refreshed watching the mountain view on the other side and being immersed in the unique tranquility of the rural village.
Farm owner Lin Yu-Chun used to work in the food service industry and lived overseas for a long time. When her mother got sick, she returned home to take care of her. The Farm was originally registered in her father’s name, but it had been deserted for a long time. Later on, as her mother’s physical condition worsened, she decided to establish a farm. She said that food has a huge influence on the body. To help her mother eat more healthily, she rolled up her sleeves and became a farmer. She took the initiative to ask farmers in the neighborhood how to grow fruits suitable for this area. Learning how to grow pomelos, oranges, tangerines, etc., she gradually established a farm on a considerable scale.

Lin Yu-Chun suggests that although the Farm started with family, the idea to help her family eat healthily has becomes the core concept of the Farm. She hopes visitors can learn about natural farming and understand the environment of growing fruit trees without pesticides and chemical fertilizers. They can further acquire knowledge regarding fruit growing. She also makes dishes with ingredients and fruits grown locally on the Farm, conveying the idea of consuming and using local food to eat more healthily.
