Tsai Feng Lin Apiary

“Tsai Feng Lin Apiary” is located in Taiping District, Taichung City, and is a local bee farm with over fifty years of history. Inherited by the second-generation beekeeper, Lin Chun-sung, the farm continues the first generation’s insistence on quality.

Introduction

All honey products have passed the Traceable Agricultural Product (TAP) certification, ensuring transparent sources and reliable quality. The park primarily uses local nectar sources, with Lychee Honey being the most representative product, beloved by consumers for its fresh, sweet, and mild flavor. In addition to production, Tsai Feng Lin actively responds to the transformation of modern agriculture by integrating beekeeping with tourism and environmental education to develop an ecological site that combines production, exhibition, and learning.

Regarding family roles, Lin Chun-sung focuses on apiary management and beekeeping operations, while his wife, Hsiao Hsin-yu, is responsible for park operations, guided tours, event planning, and brand promotion. This allows the traditional bee farm to maintain its professional heritage while connecting with the public in a friendly manner, becoming a vital agricultural education hub in the Taiping area.

Knowledge Introduction: Upon entering the park, visitors learn about bee species, their division of labor, ecological roles, and the formation of products like honey and royal jelly through indoor graphics and briefings.

Field Experience: This is the most attractive highlight of the park. Under professional guidance, visitors wear protective gear to observe bee colony activities up close. This is followed by manual honey extraction and on-site tasting to experience the natural flavors through smell, sight, and taste.

Handmade Activities: The park offers DIY workshops for waffles, beeswax lip balm, and candle making. The “Beeswax Craft Experience” is the most popular, where visitors use natural beeswax with hexagonal comb patterns to create custom souvenirs.

Souvenirs: Tsai Feng Lin has developed diverse bee products and gifts, such as the “Li-Zhi Cake” made with local Lychee Honey, which has become a popular choice for visitors to Taiping.
