Tsou-Ma-Lai Leisure Farm
“Tsou-Ma-Lai Leisure Farm” is located in Tainan City, situated at the foot of Mount Wushan (a branch of the Alishan Range) and surrounded on three sides by the middle reaches of the Zengwen River, creating an independent and beautiful landscape.
Introduction
Operated by the Tainan City Farmers’ Association, the farm originated from forage grass cultivation and has maintained its unique pastoral charm for 37 years. The vast recreation area includes a 40-hectare grand grassland, primarily planted with Pangola grass (No. A254) imported from New Zealand.
This open grassland is not only a scenic vista but also a premier venue for large-scale events, such as the Hot Air Balloon Carnival, Siraya Fun-Flyer, and the 2024 12th National Scout Jamboree, making it suitable for visitors of all ages. Additionally, the farm grows “Tai-chu-tsao No. 2” napier grass, which is highly nutritious and pest-resistant, allowing for a healthy production environment without pesticides.
Features of Agricultural Tourism

The farm has designed an “Agricultural Experience Zone” with the core project being the “Lang-Di-Jia” (Napier Grass is Here) experience. Participants enter the fields to observe the grass structure and experience harvesting, washing, juicing, and even feeding the remains to animals. The “Tian-Ma-Ma Local Produce Classroom” also offers a popular “Napier Grass Mantou DIY” course for families.
In terms of product development, the farm offers a diverse range of forage grass products, including noodles, tea, cakes, and popsicles. For a deeper connection with nature, the farm provides accommodation and outdoor camping services, allowing participants to practice sustainable food and agriculture education in a natural setting.
