The only white goose-themed “Taiwan Goose Farm” in the country occupies an area of one hectare. Originally a goose-breeding and marketing course, it reopened in the summer of 2022. Qiu Huizi knows that the whole goose is a treasure trove! The feathers can be used in down jackets and shuttlecocks. The meat can be processed to make sausages, meatballs, meat floss, and goose meat products such as feet, breasts, wings, legs, hearts, livers, and tendons which are also very popular, with the smoked variety as the mainstay. “Taiwan’s first honey-smoked goose tea originate from here!”, a mouth-watering dish popular all across the country.

DIY handicrafts suited for parents and children to experience together is a highlight that should not be missed. Goose eggs are big and hard, making them well-suited for painting. Not only Chinese paintings, oil paintings, and landscape paintings be displayed on the eggs, parents and children can also apply a base, blow it dry, add in colorful layers, and finally make lighting decorations to create a unique souvenir, all under the guidance of professionals. Egg art mosaic made with fragments of painted eggshells is another special highlight, so remember to make an appointment in advance to avoid disappointment.
Qiu Huizi says that farm planning is leaning towards being more characteristic, knowledge-based, and experience-oriented. Baking-related tours will be launched, and souvenirs such as pepper cakes, and goose-flavored pine-salt pies will be developed to bring a more diverse experience to the public.
