Located in Guanxi, Hsinchu, “Zhu Qing Ting Farm” is an organic strawberry orchard that showcases the wisdom and scientific practice of highly educated farmers. Founder Hsieh Chin-yuan, who holds an MBA from the United States, and his wife Lin Chiao-yueh, who has an e-commerce background, decided to enter agriculture ten years ago, viewing it as a “lifelong” career. They avoided the main tourist roads, choosing instead to build a 2.2-fen (approx. 0.2 hectares) greenhouse in a remote side road to ensure a pure, independent, and undisturbed space for organic cultivation.
Introduction
Unlike most strawberry farms that start with fruit picking, Zhu Qing Ting initially specialized in e-commerce delivery. After building a strong reputation online through natural and sustainable cultivation philosophies, they opened for on-site experiences by popular demand. Hsieh applied financial management logic and an academic research spirit to planting, mastering core organic cultivation techniques in a short time through exchanges with experts and peers.
The farm environment is neatly organized, featuring both elevated racks and traditional ground areas to meet the needs of different age groups. The ground area is specially paved with rice husks, providing a soft walking texture while preventing visitors’ shoes from getting muddy.

To implement food and agricultural education, the couple designed many self-made props to teach children how to identify strawberry ripeness and observe bee pollination in fun ways. During the DIY potted plant activity, they share a unique tip: when planting strawberry seedlings, do not place them in the center; instead, plant them near the edge of the pot and identify the direction of the runners. This ensures that the strawberries hang down naturally as they grow, achieving a perfect shape.
Features of Agricultural Tourism
Fruits
The most stunning achievement is the farm’s “perfectly proportioned” strawberry jam. Made from surplus or slightly blemished fruits, this product has won the 3-star highest honor from the International Taste Institute (iTQi) in Belgium for two consecutive years—the only product in Taiwan to achieve this. Judged by professional chefs and sommeliers, this award signifies that the flavor has reached world-class standards. From starting in e-commerce to becoming an internationally award-winning farm, Zhu Qing Ting has successfully transformed a high-education background into agricultural competitiveness.
